Codemasters Online are delighted to announce that our sixth major FREE content update to The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ is now live and ready to play! The sixth free content update for subscribers to The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™; Book 14: The Ring-forges of Eregion brings us one step closer to The Mines of Moria™ with the Volume II prologue. Players can witness the Fellowship departing Rivendell for Mordor! Book 14 also offers many new features, quests, and enhancements to both the PVE game and Monster Play. The Ring-lore of Eregion Special Event is here "The Lost Ring-lore of Eregion Amarthiel seeks to reforge Narchuil, the ring of iron she forged long ago under the tutelage of the Dark Lord Sauron. In an effort to stop her, Elrond Halfelven of Rivendell has dispatched heralds throughout Eriador, seeking the last vestiges of the Ring-lore of Eregion. These Heralds have been charged to enlist the help of people of good courage to help in this endeavour, and reward them for their efforts. Once enough fragments of lore have been gathered, Elrond may learn a way to hinder the Champion of Angmar and put an end to Narchuil’s threat once and for all. For the duration of this event, you will be able to accept a daily quest from any of the Heralds of Rivendell that are found scattered throughout the world. Each time you complete this quest it will help advance the story for your world . . . and you may receive an additional reward as well. In preparation for Book 14, we're pleased to be able to make available the Book 14 standalone patcher in advance so that you can get your game client all set to go on launch day. This patch will update EU LOTRO clients from Book 13 to Book 14. All new players will still need to go through the normal patching process. The downloadable patch means you can download it and patch your client before the update goes live on the servers, saving you time when they come back up. It also means you can download the patch onto a computer that you don't have LOTRO installed on (e.g. your work computer), transfer the patch to a disk or device, and then run it on the computer with a LOTRO client to update it. Lord of the Rings Online Book 14 is available for download! Free expansion Book 14: The Rings Forges of Eregion are available for download for it's upcoming release. "Book 14 Downloadable Updater Now Available! The downloadable patch for Book 14 is now available! This patch will update clients from Book 13 to Book 14. New players will still need to go through the normal patching process - this patch will only work for those whose clients are current as of today (July 16). It will not work for Roheryn. The downloadable patch means you can download it and patch your client before the update goes live on the servers, saving you time when they come back up. It also means you can download the patch on a computer that you don't have LOTRO installed on (i.e. your work computer), transfer the patch to a disk or device, and then run it on the computer with a LOTRO client to update it.
